Summer Deals with Rustic Mantles and Custom Bars
We get asked a lot, “What is going on with RustiK, how’s it going, what projects are in the works at the shop, how many splinters have you gotten lately….?” So because so many people asked, if you have 5 minutes to spare you’ll get the insight on some of the highlights we have going on. If you make it to the end, there may be an enticing deal that would be “intriguing” for some.
A few months back, we had the ability to visit the old Roebling Steel Factory in Trenton New Jersey. We were able to salvage a great load of the old floor beams used in the factory. Since then we had a few inquiries about creating custom mantle and shelving units from them. We think this is a great way to preserve the beauty and character from all of these beams.
So we are officially announcing the unofficial line of Roebling Steel Mantels (remember folks, they’re actually wood). We have a variety of lengths available from 2’ to 12’. The original white wash paint on the top along with the scars of history and use is a beautiful and relatively simple way to add some unique character and rustic charm to your space.

If you’ve been following along long enough you may remember the Nemanie Lodge on Lake Wallenpaupack that we were given the chance to salvage from in November. This lodge was the vacation destination for families starting in the 1920’s to enjoy the lake and natural beauty of the surrounding woods. Unfortunately, the lodge’s time was up and it needed to come down. The homeowners that purchased the property understood and valued the history and iconic meaning to the area, so instead of watching it all go away in dumpsters, RustiK Rehab and Salvage & Craft were able to go in and salvage what we could. The material RustiK salvaged is going to be used to furnish the new home being built on the property. We installed the first wave of items a few weekends ago and were excited how it came out. The bar front is all interior wood paneling from the Living Room and Dining Room. The back wall cabinetry is sitting on a live edge piece of pine that was the old flitch siding boards from the back porch. All of the cabinet doors are the old screen doors that we took the screens out of and inlaid custom cut glass pieces.

This is only the tip of the iceberg for the Nemanie material and we can’t wait to share the second wave of installation which will include a 9’ farm table, custom coffee table, one of a kind heavy timber bed and a unique blend of all of the material transformed into a foyer cabinet.
If you know of a location with some history or age that has some structure or material that is in need of a second life, please let us know. We are always looking to save whatever we can and transform it into custom pieces.
